The CIMAG M-10 sorter is designed to extract the carob bean from the carob pod. It consists of a mill with a 10 kg hopper and a paddle for manually controlling the feed rate of the product. The product falls onto the constantly moving sieve, which separates the different sizes by gravity.
The machine incorporates a fan that generates the airflow required to separate the carob seed from the pulp, aided by three blades in different positions which can be adjusted as required using a handwheel to ensure the final product is as clean as possible. The outlet chute for the clean carob seed is also adjustable in angle to allow for fine-tuning of the product quality.
The machine has two motors: a 4CV motor which drives the mill, the fan and the sieve, and a 0.25CV gear motor which drives the screw conveyor that extracts the medium-sized product from the expansion chamber.
